Jurisdiction Boundary of Poonthura Police

This station was formerly an out post of Fort Police Station. Consequent to the re-organisation of the City Police, this out post was upgraded in to a charging station from 15.11.62 vide GO (MS) 575/Home (D) Dept dated.12.11.1962 and named as &ldquoPOONTHURA POLICE STATION&rdquo.

Formerly Poonthura Police Station was situated on the eastern side of the Ambalathara Cheriamuttam Road near to ST.Thomas Church of Poonthura. On 03.11.1969, the station was shifted to a new building constructed on the eastern side of the Poonthura Ambalathara Road near Sree Moolam Lock vide GO (RT) 1772/69 Home dated 1969 and shifted on 03.12.1969.
