Cantonment Sub Division

Cantonment Sub Division comprises the parts of Thycaudu, Vanchiyoor, Thirumala, Sasthamangalam, kowdiar, Vattiyoorkavu, Peroorkada, Uliyazhthura, Ulloor, Kudappanakunnu villages in Thurvananthapuram Corporation and partly Karakulam Panchayath.

This sub division was come into existence as per G.O.(MS) No.155/1982 dtd.14.12.1982 and this office is now situated on the first floor of Vanitha Police Station in survey No.28/34, 28/35 and 28/36 of Vanchiyoor village. The Govt. Secretariat is situated at the south side of this office. The Police Control Room, Cantonment Police Station, Cantonment CI Office, Vanitha Police Station, Vanitha Help Line, Pink Police Patrol and VHF are also functioning within the same compound.

The vital installations and important buildings like Govt. Secretariat, Kerala Raj Bhavan, Kerala Legislative Assembly, AG&rsquos Office, RBI, Cliff House, Doordarsan, All India Radio, VSSC, Kerala University, Ministers&rsquo residences, MLA Hostel, PMG, Rajiv Ghandhi Bio Technology, Central Prison, Civil Station, Police Head Quarters, Military Station, Kowdiar Palace, Museum and Zoom and important Hotels like Taj Vivanda, Hilton Garden and Mascot Hotel etc are situated within the limit of this sub division.
