1. City police have arrested Two more accused in attempted murder of youth.

           City Police have arrested two more accused in a case of attempted murder of a youth during the Thiruvallam Panathura temple festival. Thiruvallam police arrested Akash (19) and Vishnu (23) alias Thavala Vishnu from Vazhamuttam. The other two accused in the case, Jithulal and Anikuttan, were arrested by the police yesterday. The incident took place on 14.02.22. Unnishankar, a native of Poonkulam, was brutally beaten by a group of six accused at the festival grounds and hit on the head with a cricket stump. The seriously injured youth is being treated at the Medical College Hospital. The attack was prompted by protests against the ban on the sale and use of Ganja by the accused during the festival.

2. City police have arrested the accused in the Mobile shop theft case.

     Police have arrested the accused in a case of breaking into a mobile shop near the Medical College Hospital and stealing money and a mobile phone. Roy, 60, alias Ullulli Roy, was arrested by the Medical College Police at Kaniyamkudi House in Pettah, Velakudi. The accused to a mobile shop called Garud Communications near the medical college and stole an expensive mobile phone and Rs 38,000. The case was registered on the complaint of shop owner Binu and the accused was identified during an investigation focusing on CCTV footage. Defendant was apprehended during an investigation based on information that a person was staying in a lodge near the shop in a suspicious manner. The stolen money and mobile phone were recovered from the accused.

 3. City police have arrested the accused in the Ambalamukku murder case.

       Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of an employee of an plant nursery in Ambalamukku. Rajendran, 49, alias Rajesh, a native of Thovala, Vellamadam in Kanyakumari district, was nabbed by a special investigation team led by the city police commissioner. He is accused in several cases including four murders in Tamil Nadu. Vinitha (38), a resident of Charuvally, Nedumangad, Karipur, was killed in an attempted robbery at an establishment in Peroorkada Ambalamukku on Sunday. The accused was nabbed from a place called Kavalkinar in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu.

     The accused used this cruelty to steal Vinitha's gold chain worth about four sovereign. The accused Rajendran is an employee of a hotel in Peroorkada area. I had been looking for a job at this hotel for over a month. The company was looking for the culprit while he was working here. He chose this day because it was the only take-away system in hotels as part of a restriction similar to the lockdown on Sunday. There are four murder cases pending against him in Tamil Nadu, including the murder of a customs officer and his wife in the Aralvaymozhi station area and the Kanyakumari police station in two murder cases. He is also accused in various cases of attempted murder, theft and assault at various police stations in Tamil Nadu, including Ambattur, Thoothukudi and Tirupur. He is also on the goonda list in Tamil Nadu.
